How a budding young artist’s passion for dance led her to e.motion21.
Earlier this month, we had the pleasure of meeting Arundhati Banerjee, who generously chose to champion e.motion21 as part of her pageantry journey as a finalist for the 2019 Miss Diamond Australia Beauty Pageant, representing South Australia.
She identified e.motion21 as an organisation for her charity purposes due to her passion for performing arts and her shared belief of how dance can make a difference, bring joy and happiness irrespective of age, gender and levels of abilities. Her mantra is “Dance is for Everybody-integration of mind, body and soul”.
Arundhati an Artreprenuer and founder member of AIDA- Bharatanatyaved – a dance academy in South Australia-Seacliff, imparting training in Indian classical, contemporary and folk forms. She is coming up with a production titled the Dancing Sutra this Fringe Season 2019 in Marion Cultural Centre, in which proceeds will be donated to e.motion21. She has been trained in the Indian classical dance form-Bharatanatyam under the tutelage of a renowned Guru, Padmashree Shobana Chandra Kumar, who is a National Award winner, actress, dancer, choreographer in India. She is also currently receiving her training in western forms of dance such as ballet, hip-hop, jazz, tap and contemporary and has completed National level certifications in dance. She has also committed to specialised training in the areas of: art of emotions, the ancient text in dramaturgy and the playing of an instrument – cymbal popular called “nattuvangam” in India.
Arundhati’s mantra is Dance is for the soul and for the betterment of the society, and hence stands for her cause through e.motion21.
Notable credentials and accomplishments:
Arundhati has been bestowed with the membership of the prestigious International Dance Council- Partnered with UNESCO for the second consecutive year and her laurels has helped her dance academy also to be accepted for the membership. She has won the coveted KAR Dance Competition (Overall 1 st place) and was invited to Hollywood. She has also won the Miss Glamourgenic-Talent Supreme Title in 2018 at Brisbane and was selected as the National Finalist-Face of Capezio. She has been with the Australian Girls’ Choir and had the honour of performing at the Adelaide Oval for a test match between Australia and England, Sound of Voices, Governor’s House-Tasmania
She has choreographed and trained dancers for diverse events in Adelaide and interstate and won laurels that included festivals, competitions and multicultural events. Some of the events and projects that she has successfully presented and left the audiences in awe has been Oz Asia, Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, Minda’s Award ceremony and Christmas Celebrations and many more….
