CEO Welcome
Welcome to Term 1 2018…2018?…not sure about you but I need to still think and check whether this is correct. 2018…where are those flying cars??? 🚘😂

I hope you've been enjoying the summer months this year, with plenty of sun around to get us all up and active and enjoying the great outdoors with family and friends...including the furry kind!

For e.motion21 team, it has been a very active start, as we prepare for the great year ahead for our + 300 enrolments and reflect on times gone by to make this year an even better year for our participants! Our passion, drive and commitment to our participants comes from the heart and the positive role we play has already started.
We have the main details of the many great plans and what’s install below. I could not believe it as I was reading of all that is happening! The phenomenal power of the human mind, when mixed with passion and drive!
As always, I welcome and value your thoughts / advice and I look forward to us all having a successful year together…even if we miss the odd dance step!
Most of all thank you for believing in our mission and for working together, with us, to help make a difference to the lives of our participants.
Thank you in advance for supporting our World Down Syndrome Day celebrations with Moverthon 21 hour treadmill challenge at Flinders St Station. Without much needed funds for this organisation, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do for our kids. Great sponsorship opportunities still available…*Grand Prix, Flower & Garden Show & Food & Wine Festival weekend*. Please contact the office for more information.

Warm regards,
Karina Posanzini

We have good news!

For the past few months we have been very busy developing Impact21, a pioneering education and employment program for young people with Down syndrome that leads to real jobs.
With the support of Australian Catholic University (ACU), Down Syndrome Australia, PwC, Deakin University, Dulux, Sodexo (and more employers to come), we are launching the pilot program in March 2018.
Impact21 has been designed by educators and employers and provides a space (Space21) at ACU where our young people come together to:
  • continue their learning
  • improve their health and fitness
  • train for real work with employers committed to making inclusion work
  • network and make social connections
  • fulfil a job that is paid, meaningful and sustainable.
Enrolments opening soon!

We are now looking for 20 young people with Down syndrome who have had some work or volunteering experience and are interested in finding out more about the program.

Impact21 is an initiative developed by e.motion21.

e.motion21 & MSO Collaboration!
Late last year e.motion21’s Performance Company were fortunate to collaborate with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (MSO) percussionists on a Beat Fit™ inspired routine which incorporated the four physical elements: Earth, Air, Fire and Water.  Beat Fit™ symbolised earth and fire.  The earth being stable and reliable, yet constantly working and moving. Fire signifying spontaneity, inspiration and passion.  A cellist worked on a contemporary routine with performers to symbolise air and water, constantly flowing.  The connection of both was inspirational and one could suggest a fifth element was at play – Spirit! We look forward to further exciting projects with the MSO!

Healthy Moves, Drink Water! 💧

If you don’t take care of your body, where are you going to live?

As we dance through summer it’s important to stay hydrated…drink water!
As we move through life it’s important to support your body….drink water!

Water is essential for good health it supports the absorption of vitamins and nutrients, detoxification, digestion, healthy glowing skin, healing, circulation…the list goes on!
The gurus say we should drink approximately 2 Litres of water per day (8 glasses) – and more when it’s hot, and even more when we exercise.  If you are thirsty you are already dehydrated!

We want to see YOU drinking WATER anywhere anytime!

Fun challenge: post a photo of yourself with friends/family drinking water on Facebook, then add hashtag #healthymoves #e21water #emotion21 for chance to win awesome spot prizes!
